Generating an Acoustic Field for Measurement of Horizontally Stratified Sea Bottom Properties using Wavenumber Integration with Direct Global Matrix Approach
نویسنده
چکیده
The acoustic field is obtained in terms of the wave number integration for a horizontally stratified ocean. The Inverse Hankel Transform is obtained for shallow water over a Layered inhomogeneous elastic bottom using “Direct global Matrix approach” with Fast Field Approximation Technique. This paper presents the determination of total solution for the depth dependence of the field: the depth dependence Green’s function for Self Source Acoustic field. Key-Words-Fast Field Approximation, Green’s Function, Global Matrix, Geoacoustic, Hankel transforms, Helmholtz equation, and shallow water.

Hartley Series Direct Method for Variational Problems
The computational method based on using the operational matrix of anorthogonal function for solving variational problems is computeroriented. In this approach, a truncated Hartley series together withthe operational matrix of integration and integration of the crossproduct of two cas vectors are used for finding the solution ofvariational problems. Two illustrative...
متن کاملEvaluation of Acoustic Emission Inspection of Oil Tank Floor via Tank Bottom Plates Thickness Measurement
This paper deals with an inspection of defects including corrosion and leakage by Acoustic Emission (AE) in an oil tank floor. In contrast to intrusive methods such as magnetic flux leakage, eddy current or ultrasonic, there is no need to emptying and entering the tank in AE method in order to inspection. In this research AE investigation and AE source location is presented in detail. The resul...

Background and Objectives: Influence of water mass on sound propagation in the Gulf of Aden underwater acoustics used for communication, navigation and identification of objects by both humans and marine mammals and for investigating the detrimental effects of anthropogenic activities (e.g. pile driving, seismic survey and ships) on marine animals. The Gulf of Aden presents a unique ecosystem t...
متن کاملWave propagation theory in offshore applications
A frequency-wavenumber-domain formulation is presented in this paper for calculation of the Green's functions and wave propagation modes in a stratified fluid body underlain by a layered viscoelastic soil medium. The Green's functions define the solid and fluid displacements and fluid pressures due to uniform disk loads acting in either the soil or fluid media. The solution is in the frequency ...
متن کاملShallow water sound propagation over a layered calcarenite seafloor: an exercise in benchmarking various models
The sediment deficient western and southern Australian coastal seafloors consist of semi-compact layered calcarenite. Although there is a large body of work investigating and modelling the characteristics of underwater sound propagation over a layered elastic seafloor, there are still difficulties associated with modelling complex shallow water environments like the Australian shelf. For a rang...
